K-pop singer G-Dragon arrested on drug charges
The famous G-Dragon from the Korean K-pop group BIGBANG was summoned by the police on Monday, November 6, on suspicion of drug use. This is the latest case of famous artists in South Korea having problems with drugs. Under conservative President Yoon Suk Yeol, illegal drug use is being cracked down on heavily, and G-Dragon, whose last name is Kwon Ji-yong, 35, is under investigation. Before entering the police station, Kwong stood in front of the news media for a while and then went inside. Lee Sun-kyun, who starred in the Oscar-winning Korean film Parasite, was also summoned to the police station last week for drug use.
G-Dragon, who arrived at the police station in a black suit, said that he had done nothing wrong and that he had come to clear up any suspicions about him. Actor Lee Sun-kyun, who was questioned on Saturday, November 4, also refused to answer any questions about drug use when he came back from the police station, saying that he answered everything the police asked him to the best of his knowledge.
